Who was Kay Bojesen?

Kay Bojesen was trained as a silversmith and first and foremost considered himself a craftsmans. Today, he is known as the man behind some of the most iconic Danish designs, including the Grand Prix cutlery and the famous wooden monkey, which, like the other wooden toys, is still adored by the public today.

“Great design is something everyone is entitled to”

Kay Bojesen was an extremely skilled shaper and during his working life, he brought many popular and functional works to life. His design mantra was to create things that would spread joy and benefit to anyone. Therefore, he also introduced his silverware in more affordable materials, such as steel and wood, to make his designs more accessible to the public. Today his creations are loved and acknowledged in all types of homes around the world.

What did Kay Bojesen design?

Kay was a curious and industrious craftsman. He manufactured an unbelievable amount of designs during his working life. This included a broad selection of silverware, cutlery and products for the bar and kitchen, as well as an extensive collection of figurines, toys in wood, furniture and interior.

Although silver was his absolute favorite material to work with, he also worked with many other approaches to design and mastered steel, wood, glass and porcelain in addition to the silver.
